About the Author

Elaine N. Marieb

Elaine N. Marieb, she received her Ph.D. In zoology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Elaine N. Marieb joined the school of the Biological Sciences Division of Holyick junior college. While teaching at Holokay junior college, where many of his students were pursuing nursing degrees, he developed a desire to raised understand the connection between the scientific study of the physical body and therefore the clinical aspects of nursing practice.

Dr. Marieb also contributes to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he provided funding for the reconstruction and instrumentation of a state-of-the-art cytology research laboratory. Acknowledging the serious national shortage of nursing faculty, she underscores the nursing scholars of the Future Grant program at the university.

In 2012 and 2017, Drs. Marieb gave generous philanthropic support to Florida Gulf Coast University as a long-term investment for healthcare and human service professionals in education, research, and the local community.

In recognition of his contribution, the university is now home to the Elaine Nikon Maryab College of Health and Human Services. Dr. Katja Hoehn is a professor in the Department of Biology at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. Dr. Hohen's first love is teaching.
