This Anatomy book's Author details Frank H. Netter was born in 1906 in New York City. He studied art at the Art Students League and therefore the National Academy of Design before entering the school of medicine at New York University, where he received a Doctor of Drug degree in 1931. During his student years, Drs. Netter's notebook sketches caught the eye of medical faculty and other physicians, helping him to extend his income by drawing articles and textbooks. He continued drawing as a sideline after establishing a surgical practice in 1933 but eventually opted to go away his practice in favor of a full-time commitment to the humanities. After serving within us Army during war II, Drs. Netter began its long association with CIBA drug company (now Novartis Pharmaceuticals).
